Stalking Victims Speak Out
Added September 28th, 2009 in NSS News
Research by leading forensic psychologist Dr Lorraine Sheridan in conjunction with the Network for Surviving Stalking has established that three quarters of stalking victims (77% of survey of 2,122 victims) only reported their case to the police after 100 occasions or more.
Just 21% of victims believed police were sufficiently aware of the needs of stalking victims while 80% felt that they should be specifically trained to better handle cases of stalking.
Full details of the research - sponsored by Tonight at ITV - will be published by NSS shortly. Watch Cops V Stalkers on ITV at 8pm on 28th September for more details.
